Set up a community
Give members a clear welcome, useful channels and honest access terms.
5 minute guideOn this page
Start with a member promise
Define who the community is for and why members return. Add a welcome, rules and a small number of useful channels before creating complex activity loops.
Keep the first action obvious: introduce yourself, read a resource or join a planned discussion. An empty community should explain the next step without invented member activity.
Review tiers and inclusions
If you use membership tiers, name each plan and describe what it includes. Free, monthly, annual and one-time options must have clear amounts and renewal terms.
Check the public starting price and the exact selected tier at checkout. Access is determined by the purchased plan and retained purchase records, not by a creator changing a label in the page editor.
Prepare onboarding and events
Use onboarding steps to connect the member promise to practical actions. Add event details with accurate time zones and destinations. A displayed event is not the same as an automatically created meeting provider session.
Review profile sharing, member posting and moderation permissions. Only collect or expose member information that supports the community experience.
Preview without inventing activity
View as member uses the actual member-space renderer with sample access where supported. It does not create real posts, members, notifications or purchases.
Use authorized buyer testing for rule acceptance, tier permissions and moderation before describing the community as operationally verified.
